Dhanvantri Puja Homa

There is an incident in the Hindu mythology wherein both the demons and the Gods perform the Samudra Manthan (churning of the mountain, Mandara for attaining Amrut or Cosmic Ocean of Milk), the physician in chief who appears during the churning is Dhanvantri Devaru. He is worshipped to restore overall physical fitness as He is the divine physician. Lord Dhanvantri is mostly worshipped whenever a person is sick, met with an accident, suffering from a chronic disease, or is recovering from a terminal illness so as to seek his divine blessings in the form of a cure. Hence, the Dhanvantri Homa and Puja is considered as a very essential and powerful Puja to please Lord Dhanvantri and seek his blessings to get cured of any chronic illness, health problems, ailments, and disorders be it physical or mental. A Dhanvantri Homa and Puja is preferably conducted or performed on Ekadashi, but not necessarily, as it can be conducted when a devotee is suffering from illness.
