Pradosh Puja

The term 'Pradosh' means 'relating to the evening,' and according to the Hindu calendar, Pradosh occurs twice every month. Pradosh Vrat occurs once on Krishna Paksha and the second time on Shukla Paksha of a month. Pradosh Vrat or Puja is basically performed to worship and please God Shiva and His companion, Goddess Parvati. Devotees fast all day long, pray and chant hymns and Mantras to please the deities. The Vrat or fasting done on this particular day is known as Pradosh or Pradosham when people consider performing or at least conducting a Pradosh Puja. Devotees who follow and believe in Pradosh Puja and Vrat are supposed to wake up early on this day, take a bath and also maintain celibacy for the entire day ahead. It is considered quite auspicious and spiritually healthy to perform or conduct a Pradosh Puja on this day. If a devotee cannot perform the Puja himself/herself, then they should at least chant 'Om Namah Shivay' (in the name of Lord Shiva) as many times as possible with great respect, utter devotion, sincerity, and faith. The Pradosh Puja and Vrat are supposed to be concluded by reading or hearing the Pradosh Vrat Katha and then by performing the Aarti. 

The God and Goddess are prayed on this auspicious day twice a month to seek their blessings in the form of good riddance from the adverse effects of Saturn (Shani Dev) from the natal charts. It is also said that the devotees of Lord Shiva are blessed by Shani Dev on this day though, Shani Dev is considered as a frightening figure, he can be rewarding as well based on the devotee's devotion and Karma.

'प्रदोष' शब्द का अर्थ है 'शाम से संबंधित' और हिंदू कैलेंडर के अनुसार, प्रदोष हर महीने में दो बार होता है। प्रदोष व्रत एक बार कृष्ण पक्ष को और दूसरी बार किसी मास के शुक्ल पक्ष को पड़ता है। प्रदोष व्रत या पूजा मूल रूप से भगवान शिव और उनकी साथी देवी पार्वती की पूजा करने और उन्हें प्रसन्न करने के लिए की जाती है। भक्त पूरे दिन उपवास करते हैं, प्रार्थना करते हैं और देवताओं को प्रसन्न करने के लिए भजन और मंत्रों का जाप करते हैं। इस विशेष दिन पर किए गए व्रत या उपवास को प्रदोष या प्रदोषम के रूप में जाना जाता है जब लोग प्रदोष पूजा करने या कम से कम करने पर विचार करते हैं। यदि आपको प्रदोष पूजा और व्रत करने का कोई ज्ञान नहीं है, तो आप हमारे साथ पूजा बुक कर सकते हैं और हमारे पुजारियों को सही मार्ग की ओर मार्गदर्शन करने में मदद कर सकते हैं।

प्रदोष पूजा और व्रत का पालन करने वाले भक्तों को इस दिन जल्दी उठना चाहिए, स्नान करना चाहिए और पूरे दिन के लिए ब्रह्मचर्य का पालन करना चाहिए। इस दिन प्रदोष पूजा करना या करना काफी शुभ और आध्यात्मिक रूप से स्वस्थ माना जाता है। यदि कोई भक्त स्वयं पूजा नहीं कर सकता है, तो उन्हें कम से कम 'ओम नमः शिवाय' (भगवान शिव के नाम पर) का जाप यथासंभव सम्मान, पूर्ण भक्ति, ईमानदारी और विश्वास के साथ करना चाहिए। प्रदोष व्रत कथा को पढ़कर या सुनकर और फिर आरती करके प्रदोष पूजा और व्रत का समापन किया जाता है।

जन्म चार्ट से शनि (शनि देव) के प्रतिकूल प्रभावों से अच्छी मुक्ति के रूप में उनका आशीर्वाद लेने के लिए महीने में दो बार इस शुभ दिन पर भगवान और देवी की प्रार्थना की जाती है। यह भी कहा जाता है कि इस दिन भगवान शिव के भक्तों पर शनि देव की कृपा होती है हालांकि, शनि देव को भयावह रूप माना जाता है, वे भक्त की भक्ति और कर्म के आधार पर फलदायी भी हो सकते हैं।
