Shiv Maha Puran Katha Path

The Shiv Puran is a part of the ancient Shaivism literature compilation and is considered one of the eighteen major Puranas in Hinduism. The Shiv Maha Puran Katha centers around the Hindu God, Shiva, and the better half, Goddess Parvati. The Katha also refers to and reveres all the other Hindu Gods. 

The Maha Shiv Puran Katha used to be a living text which once consisted of 100,000 Slokas (verses) set out in twelve Samhitas or sections. A disciple wrote it of Vyasa, Romaharshana, who belonged to the class Suta. At present, the Katha has 24,000 verses with six Samhitas, and each of these Samhitas or sections is further divided into chapters or Adhyay containing 24,000 verses. The six Samhitas are – Janma Samhita, Vidyeshwara Samhita, Kailasa Samhita, Sanatkumara Samhita, Vayaviya Samhita, and Dharma Samhita.

Conducting a Shiv Puran Puja helps one attain a deeper knowledge of mythology, cosmology, ethics, the relationship between Gods, yoga, river, and geography, Tirtha Sthan (pilgrimage sites), bhakti, and many other topics. Shiv Puran Puja also instructs ways and rituals to worship and appease Lord Shiva, who is one amongst the Hindu Trinity Gods along with Mahavishnu and Brahma.

The Shiv Puran Puja is conducted over nine days, wherein our experienced priest recites the Slokas and helps conduct the entire Puja. According to ancient traditional beliefs, one who worships Mahadeva as per the Shiv Puran instructions gets blessings of the Lord himself, thereby attaining moksha after leading a contented worldly life.
